Better product decisions start with clarity.

We help founders and product leaders uncover what's really slowing product progress, align teams around what matters, and improve the systems behind better product decisions.

COMMON CHALLENGES

COMMON CHALLENGES

Organizations usually call us when…

Organizations usually call us when…

Priorities change every week.

Everyone is working hard, but nobody is confident the product is moving in the right direction anymore.

Product, design and engineering stopped speaking the same language.

The work keeps moving, but shared understanding disappeared somewhere along the way.

The roadmap became a negotiation.

Urgency replaced strategy and every decision feels like a compromise.

Delivery isn’t the biggest problem anymore.

Decision-making is. The work is moving, but the organization has become slower at making confident product decisions.

The real work

Most product problems are organizational problems wearing a product mask.

When organizations become more complex, product problems rarely stay inside the product. They appear in roadmaps, meetings, documentation and delivery, but they usually begin much earlier. That's why we start by understanding the system before recommending change.

We begin by understanding the system around the product, not by prescribing a framework for it.

How we think

Clarity is not simplification. It is the discipline of seeing what matters.

01

Understand before recommending.

We make the hidden assumptions, incentives, dependencies, and decision paths visible before recommending movement.

02

Improve systems, not symptoms.

Most product problems are consequences of deeper organizational patterns. We focus on improving the system that creates them.

03

Leave stronger teams behind.

The goal is not dependency on outside expertise. It is a team that can continue making clearer decisions after the engagement ends.

Product Operating Systems:
Building better product systems instead of adding more process

The organization was growing, but product execution depended too heavily on individual knowledge and informal communication.

Context: As teams expanded, product practices became inconsistent and decision-making increasingly relied on individuals rather than shared systems.

Our work: Designed lightweight product operating practices covering documentation, ownership, decision frameworks, collaboration rituals and product governance.

What changed: More sustainable ways of working; better cross-functional collaboration; clearer product governance; product decisions that scale with the organization.

Startup Product Strategy: Helping an early-stage product move from ideas to a focused product strategy

An ambitious product vision needed clearer priorities before additional development could create unnecessary complexity.

Context: The team had strong ideas but needed a shared understanding of what should be built first and why.

Our work: Facilitated product discovery, structured decision-making, UX thinking and product definition to establish a focused MVP strategy.

What changed: Shared product vision; clear MVP scope; better prioritization; faster product decisions.

Enterprise Wearables: Strengthening product alignment during platform growth

As the platform expanded across product management, UX, engineering and operations, growing complexity made product decisions slower and priorities harder to align.

Context: A growing enterprise platform needed stronger product coordination across disciplines while continuing to deliver new capabilities.

Our work: Worked across Product Management, UX, release management, operations and stakeholder alignment to improve product decision-making, documentation, prioritization and cross-functional collaboration.

What changed: Better alignment across product, design and engineering; clearer product ownership; more consistent release planning; stronger decision-making across teams.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

I'm Aleksandra Svonja, founder of Shift A Consulting.

I work with founders and product leaders to help product organizations make better decisions, strengthen cross-functional collaboration and build product systems that scale with the business.

My work sits at the intersection of product strategy, product operations and UX. Rather than introducing more process, I help organizations understand how decisions are made today, uncover what is slowing them down and design better ways of working that teams can sustain long after the engagement ends.

Before working in product, I spent years producing films. It taught me to look beyond what is immediately visible. Today I approach product organizations the same way, understanding the systems, relationships and decisions that shape what eventually reaches customers.
